I interviewed for a job at another network last month. It came down to me and some other guy. I didn't get the job (the other guy had prior experience freelancing there), but I got many compliments on my demo reel and I have another contact who knows I can do what I do. It sucks because the job is much better than the one I currently have and I would be making roughly $15K more. C'est la vie. At least I finally got my demo done.
Good news - I was paid for the first website commission. It was a beast of a project and I was paid far too little for it, but the whole experience was definitely worth it - mainly for the practice using Flash, communicating with clients and figuring out the flow of information. There are many things I will do differently next time (like charge more!), but the good thing is that the client is totally estatic about the results. I really need to learn more about web design.
Spinning off the both of those big events, my personal website is in its infancy. I'm taking an hour or two a day at work (where else do I have the time?) to figure out what I want to do and go from there. Ideally, the website will showcase my not only my "art", but it will also be a place where I can host my demo reel and web links for prospective employers.
Too much to do.
Later!

Unfortunately, I've been hella-busy lately at work. Even my "light" days seem heavy and the easy stuff is mind-numbingly tedious. Yesterday, I didn't even get lunch. Luckilly I get overtime for the 4 1/2 hours extra I worked on the project, but damn...LET ME GOOF OFF, PLEASE!

Curious?
I'm out there, trust me. : ) I check out your site at least once a week, if not more. I just tend to be quiet when I don't have criticism better than "it's nice" or "looks good".
